1. COUPLES CATEGORY

2. DANCE TEAM CATEGORY
Dance teams will perform at the Dancing with the Big Sky Stars live event on Saturday, May 13th at the DoubleTree Hotel.
This is a fun way to get your organization involved!
Registration:
When you register please be prepared with the following:

-The judge panel will award the mirror ball trophy to the highest scoring in the Couples Category and they will also award a champion to the highest scoring in the Dance Team Category.

For $5/vote fans can cast their vote for their favorite team starting April 1st at www.BigSkySeniorServices.org
3. MUSIC VIDEO CATEGORY-Recordings
All videos will be reviewed and judged prior to the Dancing with the Big Sky Stars Event on May 13th. The top 2 videos will be guaranteed a primetime spot during the Dancing with the Big Sky Stars event on May 13th. The winning video will also be awarded a trophy during the award presentation portion of the event.

Submitting your video:
Judging-
1. Technicality (25 possible points) – Style, Footwork, Ability (difficulty of movement)
2. Presentation (25 possible points) – Poise, Expression, *Costume, Presences, Personality, *Showmanship
3. Execution (25 possible points) – *Precision, Rhythm, Timing, Continuity of movement, *Synchronization
4. *Choreography (25 possible points) – Quality of movement, *Creativity, Originality
Definitions
Costume – Is the style of dress consistent with the music and/or does the dress compliment the sponsor? Must be tasteful and family appropriate.
Showmanship/Enthusiasm/Energy – Is the performance upbeat, does it have attitude, is it graceful? Are the dancers able to project excitement while they perform? Is the attitude consistent with the chosen dance? (i.e. Tango-power & strength, Waltz-flow & smooth movement, Salsa-excitement & flexibility, Western-excitement and fun, etc.)
Precision/Execution – How well does the group keep spacing, good posture, hand & foot movements, claps-jumps-stomps-turns together, and dance in time with music.
Synchronization/Teamwork - Is the group moving together and keeping in step? Lines and formations should move as one.
Choreography – Are the steps/movements of the routine of a planned design? Did the group display variations and creative elements?
Creativity/Originality - Does the group display imagination and does the group take the basic pattern to an elevated level?

Dance video participants are encouraged to attend the May 13th event, tickets will be available at a discounted rate for participants-please contact Val at Val@BigSkySeniorServices.org for more details. All videos will be reviewed and judged prior to the Dancing with the Big Sky Stars Event on May 13th. - Team registration deadline is Feb. 15, 2023*. Note, if you are interested in participating but unable to register by the deadline please email val@bigskyseniorservices.org

- Team Name
- Team photo (a team photo or something that represents your team)
- Your fundraising goal (how much you would like to raise between sponsorships and online votes)
- Your sponsor
- Your sponsor's contact information

Team Rules and Guidelines:
- All dance styles are welcome. Please keep all dance moves, costumes, and song selections family-friendly.
- Age: no age limits
- Team size-minimum of 3 dancers, no maximum as long as your group can fit on the dance floor
- Music Selection-Music must be between 2-3.15 minutes. Please choose family-friendly music with no profanity.
Awards:

Music Video Rules and Guidelines:
- Dances do not have to be performed on a stage, etc. Feel free to use your creativity. Multiple filming locations are allowed.
- Video Length: The music time limit is 3 min or less. You may introduce your team and your reason for supporting Big Sky Senior Services at the end of the video, but please limit the overall video to 4 min.
- Horizontal Shot - Please record on your smart phones horizontally and ensure all dancers can be seen.
- Sound - Be sure that your music is near to your recording device, so the sound quality is good.
- Quality - Please use High Definition Cameras. Most smart phones fall in that range as long as they are not more than 4 years old. 1080p is the preferred quality.
Submitting your video:
- Step One: upload your video to YouTube or another service that you can provide a link for us to access your video. If you need assistance with this, please reach out to Val at val@bigskyseniorservices.org
- Step Two: email your video link to val@bigskyseniorservices.org
